Another first for me happen this week – I bought hotel points. And it’s probably not at the chain you would have probably guessed. I bought Wyndham points.
Wyndham is currently selling points at the lowest price ever after a 40% bonus. This works out to less than a cent per point, 0.93 cents per point to be exact.
Just head over to: https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/wyndham-rewards/purchase-points. You can buy a maximum of 45,000 points which gets you 18,000 bonus points. This promotion ends January 16th, 2020 if you are going to buy some.
Don’t forget Wyndham points expire after 18 months if you don’t have any activity in your account and 4 years after you earn them.
MY FAVORITE REDEMPTION
You might be thinking Wyndham devalued their program not too long ago by changing their 15,000 pts/night at ANY hotel to 7.5K, 15K, or 30K points per night depending on hotel. So while the best hotels doubled in price from 15K to 30K points, there are still good great values out there.
Here’s a real gem I found, there are two Wyndhams in Park City, Utah that are still at 15,000 points including during the peak winter ski season which typically run over $750/night. These slope side hotels are not just hotel rooms but 1 bedroom suites with full kitchens – perfect for ski trips.
This is why I’m buying 15,000 points for $140 instead of paying $750/night for the same room!
